Slobodno vibrirajući ekrani dostupni su u 1, 2, 3 ili 4 sloja, pokrivajući svaku moguću dimenziju teoretski. Koriste se za efikasno razdvajanje materijala unutar postrojenja. Kapacitet ekrana može varirati u zavisnosti od željene veličine proizvoda. Obično slobodno vibrirajući ekrani rade sa prosečnom širinom od 7 mm. Gradacija i sadržaj vlage materijala koji se želi razdvojiti igraju ključnu ulogu u određivanju kapaciteta ekrana.
